Rooted in History. Alive in Faith.
For nearly two centuries, Sts. Peter & Paul Parish has stood as a place of worship, community, and service where faith is lived and shared in the heart of Doylestown.
A Parish Built on Faith and Friendship

Welcome to Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, the oldest parish community in the Diocese of Cleveland.
Our story began in 1827 when eight Catholic families came together to build a place of prayer and belonging. Our first pastor, Fr. Francis Marshall, traveled on horseback from St. John’s in Canton to celebrate Mass in the log cabin of the Whitman family.
From those humble beginnings grew a vibrant and faithful community. The first church was built in 1836, replaced by a larger one in 1849, and finally by our current church, completed in 1877. The first Mass was offered on Christmas Day, 1878, a beautiful reminder that Christ is truly at the heart of all we do.
Although our church has been lovingly restored and updated through the years, it still reflects the beauty and reverence of our Catholic heritage. Every beam and stained-glass window tells the story of generations who prayed, served, and built something lasting together.
Today, our parish continues to be a place where people come to worship, grow, and belong.
We offer the Sacraments, parish ministries, and community outreach that help people encounter Christ in daily life.
From our Early Learning Center to our faith formation programs, we are dedicated to helping families raise children in the faith and adults deepen their relationship with God.
We also serve our neighbors through the Ozanam Center and Food Pantry, sharing the love of Christ with those in need.
Growing in Faith. Living in Joy.
